MoniSpec-C-AD (Dual-Wavelength)

MoniSpec-C-AD (Dual-Wavelength) continuously measures color and absorption changes directly in process media using two defined wavelengths. By comparing both wavelengths, the sensor compensates for interfering influences such as turbidity and background coloration, ensuring stable, reliable, and reproducible inline measurements.

Common Applications

Chemical Industry
Petrochemical Industry
Power Plants
Wastewater Treatment
Cooling Water Systems
Drinking Water
Oil Separators
Stormwater Retention Basins
Wastewater Treatment Plants

The MoniSpec-C-AD is an inline process photometer that uses the dual-wavelength absorption principle to measure the color of liquids in real time. Two detectors with different spectral sensitivities are integrated into the sensor. The measurement channel detects absorption caused by both color and turbidity, while the reference channel measures turbidity only. By comparing both signals, the system compensates for turbidity and accurately determines the actual color value. The sensor can be calibrated for specific applications across a wide range of measuring ranges and engineering units.

The MoniSpec-C-AD uses dual-wavelength absorption measurement to deliver highly accurate and stable color measurements in real time. The system is designed for long-term continuous operation and requires only minimal maintenance. An optional automatic cleaning probe keeps the sapphire measurement window clean, ensuring reliable performance even in demanding process conditions.

The measuring cell is manufactured from stainless steel 1.4404 as standard, while alternative materials for the sensor body, windows, and seals are available on request to suit specific applications. An optional ATEX version for hazardous areas (Zone I / Zone II) is also available.

Different optical path lengths provide a wide measuring range, typically covering approximately 0–10 APHA up to 0–50,000 APHA, making the sensor suitable for a broad variety of industrial color measurement applications.
