MoniSpec-C-A (NIR- / VIS-Absorption)

MoniSpec-C-A (NIR Absorption) is an inline process sensor that continuously monitors particles, suspended solids, and concentration changes in liquids using near-infrared (NIR) absorption measurement, enabling precise real-time process control.

Typical Industries & Applications

Chemical Industry
Petrochemical Industry
Power Plants
Wastewater
Cooling Water
Drinking Water
Oil Separators
Water Collection Tanks
Wastewater Treatment Plants

The MoniSpec-C-A inline turbidity sensor operates according to the near-infrared (NIR) light absorption principle to measure suspended solids and color in liquids. A beam of light passes through the process medium, while a detector positioned opposite the light source measures the transmitted NIR radiation. The intensity of the detected NIR light changes according to the turbidity of the medium, enabling accurate and reliable inline measurement.

The MoniSpec-C-A sensor is designed for continuous operation with long service life. Its gas-filled measuring lamp (380–1100 nm) provides a typical operating life of approximately one year.

The sensor can be installed in almost any pipeline, with process connections and sealing materials selected according to the application. An optional cleaning probe automatically cleans the sapphire measuring windows to ensure reliable operation. During turbidity measurement, the sensor uses near-infrared (NIR) absorption, making it largely insensitive to product color. Different optical path lengths enable a wide measuring range from approximately 0–100 ppm up to 0–60,000 ppm.

An optional ATEX explosion protection version allows operation in hazardous areas. The measuring cell is manufactured from high-quality stainless steel for maximum durability and corrosion resistance.
