The two-channel UV measuring instrument, model UVS-1, measures the UV absorption of liquids in the process.
The Model UVS-1 inline photometer employs the principle of dual-channel light absorption to measure the color of liquids. The sensor’s optics incorporate two LEDs operating at different wavelengths.
The measurement channel detects absorption caused by turbidity and UV-absorbing substances. The reference channel measures only the turbidity of the liquid; the difference between the two signals yields a corrected UV value ((UV absorption + turbidity) – turbidity).
The UVS-1 sensor enables the simultaneous, accurate measurement of absorption at two different wavelengths, allowing for precise readings while compensating for factors such as turbidity, window fouling, and lamp aging. Thanks to low maintenance requirements and long-life LED light sources, the sensor is ideally suited for extended periods of continuous operation. The measurement range extends from 0–0.1 to 0–5 absorption units.
The sensor window is made of sapphire, and the probe housing is constructed from high-quality 1.4404 stainless steel; a wide range of other materials is available upon request. The device can be installed directly into the process line using a ball valve. This allows the sensor to be precisely configured to meet your specific requirements, ensuring the best possible solution.
The Messenger Signal Amplifier is compatible with all optical sensors from the Chemtronic and Monitek product ranges. It allows up to four single-channel sensors to operate simultaneously, while also supporting the independent operation of different sensor types. Individual measurement signals can be freely linked, making the system ideal for applications such as automated dosing control.
Configuration is carried out via a PC or laptop using intuitive menu-guided software. As an option, the Messenger is available with an integrated Panel PC, providing a complete standalone solution for industrial process monitoring and control.
